Putting Our Heart Into Socks And The People Who Wear Them
Let Me Run
Feetures now proudly sponsors the Charlotte-based nonprofit organization, Let Me Run, which has a footprint across 27 states. Let Me Run is a nonprofit wellness program that inspires boys to be themselves, be active, and belong. With a comprehensive curriculum that applies the power of running, the program encourages boys to develop their psychological, emotional and social health, in addition to their physical health. Twice a week for seven weeks, two trained volunteer coaches lead an elementary or middle school team through practice. Designed to amplify confidence, self-expression, and respect for others, each practice includes a lesson from the Let Me Run curriculum that incorporates running, games and activities. Each fall and spring season culminates in a 5k race festival that celebrates the boys’ personal growth.
What is Let Me Run?
Let Me Run is a nonprofit holistic health program for 4th through 8th grade boys. Using running as the vehicle to inspire, teach and reach boys, our comprehensive curriculum breaks down destructive male stereotypes that often stand in the way of positive futures for boys. Twice a week for seven weeks, our trained coaches guide teams of six to fourteen boys through the program, designed to amplify confidence, self-expression, and respect for others. Each fall and spring season culminates in a 5k race that celebrates the boys’ emotional, social and physical growth.
Helping people get on their feet
Feetures focuses charitable assistance toward initiatives where we believe we can have the most beneficial effect, whether promoting healthy lifestyles or humanitarian relief. For example, we have partnered with Samaritan’s Feet, an organization which has provided footwear to millions of disadvantaged people around the world. In 2016 alone, we provided more than 45,000 pairs of socks. Other initiatives include Access To Success, an outreach begun by a Davidson College alum to promote basketball to the children of Nigeria. We have also donated to Running Works, an organization that uses sport to help families break cycles of abuse, neglect and homelessness. We support the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte and have participated in humanitarian support for disaster efforts, including hurricane, tornado and wildfire relief. At Feetures, we’ve never forgotten that helping to create a better world is a product of success, not just the success of a product.
