This Global Running Day, we asked you to share the stories of the teammates, training partners, and cheer squads who helped you go the distance. And wow—did you deliver. From sunrise runs to finish-line hugs, your stories reminded us why we run: not just for the miles, but for the people who move us forward. We’re all meant to move—and to move together. Now, we’re excited to celebrate our five winners! Each will receive $500 to Feetures to treat their team.
Meet the winners and their favorite running stories:
-
Max M. from Paso Robles, CA: “Triumphing through the torrential downpour and freezing temps to finish the 2018 Boston Marathon.”
-
Nicolino D. from New York, NY: “The pride run is always the best experience. Having all of us together post race is fantastic and a great sense of community!”
-
Jeni H. from Lansdale, PA: “I started running from no background in running, to running a half marathon to check off a bucket list item and a goal for my fitness this year! In 2023, I lost 50lbs for my own health. I needed a new goal for 2025 to continue to push myself to practice self care! I’m doing it for myself and it’s been so fun to learn so much about myself along the way. When I recently traveled to DC, I ran the National Mall! So fun!”
-
Joseph L. from Woodbury, NJ: “My favorite running story occurred in 2016 when my wife and daughter participated with me in the IBX Broad Street Run- the largest 19-mile race in the country. We trained together as a family and all received medals in the end. My work place (Independence Blue Cross) is the title sponsor and has been for twenty- nine years now.”
-
Emily B. from Birmingham, AL: “I finished a 10 mile trail run. Was just walking back to the car and sprang my ankle. Gone the whole run and nothing happened!”
Thank you to everyone who submitted, and for reminding us why we do what we do. Your stories inspired us—and we hope they’ll inspire others, too.
