Runner's Guide to Portland, Oregon

Runner's Guide to Portland, Oregon

Who needs sunshine when you have good coffee, friendly people, and miles and miles of space to run and be active. We visited Portland in January of 2020 and liked it so much we immediately planned a trip to return in the summer. Here’s our favorite highlights from the trip.

Here are our favorite places to Go. Do. and Live in Portland.

WHERE TO RUN >>

Eastbank Esplanade - Great view of the city from across the river.
Forrest Park - Single track trails not far from town.
Running Necessity - Feetures Merino 10 Cushion Quarter
Where To Get Gear (that you forgot to pack) - Fleet Feet Portland and Foot Traffic

WHERE TO DRINK >>

Nossa Familia Coffee - Their vanilla oat milk latte was so good we went back twice in one day.
Heart Coffee - Delicious coffee and their breakfast porridge is life-changing.
The Solo Club - Cozy little cocktail lounge. Try to snag the booth in the back.
My Father's Place - Grab a pint at this dive bar while you're waiting for a table at Nicholas Restaurant.

WHERE TO EAT >>

Fried Egg I'm in Love - Pure sunshine on a cloudy day, plus eggs!
Nicholas Restaurant - Hole in the wall, mind-blowing Lebanese Food. The rice is soooo pillowy.
Besaws - Get the pork scallopini.
Tope - Awesome rooftop situation and tacos.
Life of Pie Pizza - Happy hour $5 pizzas everyday.

WHERE TO EXPLORE >>

Pioneer Square - Picturesque views of the historic courthouse plus the people watching is an added bonus.
Portland Japanese Garden - Truth be told we did not get to check this out but every Uber driver we asked said we should go and we've added it to our itinerary for next trip.
